
Nokia’s Z-Wave Home control center is an open platform that allows third parties to develop “plug and play” solutions to be integrated into cell phones or computers, to allow users to control or monitor various equipments at home such as temperature sensors, cameras, and motion detectors. The system is useful for home owners to switch devices on and off and also for the control and monitoring the electricity usage of your home. It’ll also be integrated to more complex system such as security, heating, and ventilation etcetera Nokia who just announced its Home Control Center, a platform open for third parties to develop “plug and play” solutions, all of which can be controlled via your phone or PC from both inside and outside the home.

HCC will let home owners switch devices on and off as they monitor and control their electricity usage while providing access to objects such as temperature sensors, cameras, and motion detectors. Nokia’s Smart The Nokia’s Smart Home control system will consist of a wireless N home gateway device with optional GSM/GPRS module, and to be integrated into a home network of Z-Wave and ZigBee-compliant devices. The future devices that come integrated with this solution are expected to include pre-packaged Smart Home kits which shall provide options for starter, security, energy, and baby monitoring packs, when it goes on the shelf by end of 2009.
